Steve Wozniak is clarifying his statements from last week about the iPad Air, and wants it to be clear that he never meant to snub the latest tablet from Apple.
Four decades ago, he almost single-handedly kickstarted the PC revolution, co-founding one of the world's largest corporations. Will the technology he helped create liberate humanity, or will it make us more isolated, more addicted to our own enslavement? Is there a secret to innovation and what is The Next Big Thing? Apple co-founder and IT guru Steve Wozniak joins Oksana to mull over these issues.
Apple co-founder and EA founder to offer their unique insights at conference on October 22nd-23rd. The fourth Apps World Europe event takes place at Earls Court 2 this month, attracting more than 8,000 delegates during the two-day conference.
Steve Wozniak wants computers to be more human – or at least more people-friendly. He came to this epiphany while writing himself a note on an early computerized tablet. When he tapped a button marked “assist,” it automatically transferred the information in his handwritten note into a calendar. He thought, “Why can’t all computers do this?”
“You probably already have the next Steve Jobs working for you.” Amazon’s Jeff Bezos says it’s not him. Oracle’s Larry Ellison races boats and sells databases, not SL500s and smartphones. And Google’s Larry Page? Well… he’s just too darn celestially smart.
Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak and Atari founder Nolan Bushnell held an hour-long talk at the C2SV Technology Conference which MacRumors attended today in San Jose, CA, with the two speaking about a variety of topics including reminiscing about Steve Jobs and the early days of Apple.
If Silicon Valley had a Mt. Rushmore, you could do worse than chisel the form out of the photo op that erupted Wednesday when a few of Apple’s earliest employees (think single-digit employee numbers) stopped by the Computer History Museum to check out the resurrection of a rare Mac prototype.
The Apple Mac 1 Computer is a truly rare thing to see after it was discontinued in 1977, and now having only 6 working Mac 1 computers currently in the world. You can imagine how much these rare antique computers are worth, but when one of them is signed by Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple, then you can see why someone bought it for over 500,000 euros in Germany earlier this year.

Another worthy cause to consider. From Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales. "Wikipedia is something special. It is like a library or a public park. It is like a temple for the mind. It is a place we can all go to think, to learn, to share our knowledge with others".
The Venus Project proposes a system in which automation and technology would be intelligently integrated into an overall holistic socioeconomic design where the primary function would be to maximize the quality of life rather than profit.

CITIES IN THE SEA
A global system of these structures can easily accommodate many millions of people and relieve the land based population pressures. They can provide the inhabitants with information and serve as natural sea aquariums without artificially enclosing marine life.
The Venus Project proposes an alternative vision of what the future can be if we apply what we already know in order to achieve a sustainable new world civilization. It calls for a straightforward redesign of our culture in which the age-old inadequacies of war, poverty, hunger, debt and unnecessary human suffering are viewed not only as avoidable, but as totally unacceptable. Anything less will result in a continuation of the same catalogue of problems inherent in today's world. Today many people believe what is needed is a higher sense of ethical standards and the enactment of international laws to assure a sustainable global society.
We appreciate the generous response to our Kickstarter appeal. We're amazed how positive the response has been. We met our funding goal in only 3 days!!
Since Kickstarter funding is "all or nothing" we set our original goal as conservatively as possible. Since we have surpassed that goal, Kickstarter now allows "stretch goals" which are funding targets that go beyond the original amount.
We have set two “stretch goals". The first one is $55,000 which will enable us to acquire professional music and post edit including color grading. The other is a very ambitious $75,000. Having additional animations done would greatly enhance this presentation and could be possible if we reach this level. After all we have over 4 thousand of Jacque Fresco’s concept drawings and blueprints to pick from. Also professional marketing is important for a successful film and with this goal it would be within reach.
In any event, we'll do the best we can to make an exceptional documentary that we hope you find engaging as well as educational. We will keep our backers informed with updates and let us know if you have any questions. The amount we ultimately receive will determine how far we can take this documentary series.
Please keep circulating the link and keep urging friends and family to support this important effort. Thank you all for your support.

Below is a short summary of the article:
Is it possible to create a radically different society? One where material possessions are unnecessary, where buildings are created in factories, where mundane jobs are automated?
Would you want to live in a city where the main aim of daily life is to improve personal knowledge, enjoy hobbies, or solve problems that could be common to all people in order to improve the standard of living for everyone?
Some may think it is idealistic, but 97-year old architect Jacque Fresco is convinced his vision of the future is far better than how we live today.
Presented here is a straightforward approach to the redesign of a culture, in which the age-old inadequacies of war, poverty, hunger, debt, and unnecessary human suffering are viewed not only as avoidable, but totally unacceptable. This new social and economic design works towards eliminating the underlying causes that are responsible for many of our problems. But, they cannot be eliminated within the framework of the present monetary system and political establishment. The ultimate survival of the human species depends upon planning on a global scale and to cooperatively seek out new alternatives with a relative orientation for improved social arrangements.
